How sad is that?!

I can't wait to watch all that basket ball, grid iron and baseball. I am
glad that SKY TV is putting that 50 odd dollars we spend per month on such
wonderful sports that us Kiwis just love to watch!

Arse.  Not so bothered about Sharjah, but had assumed that because they
advertised coverage of last year's cancelled Pakistan tour it would be shown
this time.

Have you spoken to them, and if so did you receive a credible explanation?
I'll do as much as I can to avoid getting into their telephone system, so
would be interested to hear.

You're being overcharged through living in a third-world city.  When Sky
took over providing Telstra/Clear/Saturn's content last month, I was able to
sign up to the Sky Sports package via Saturn for an extra $10 per month.

And just as bad RadioSports won't run it either..

Someone needs to ring NZ Cricket and give MR Sneddin (sp)  both barrels at
selling out the cricket to a pay tv provider who won't even show it.

If there is anyone who has access to a english audio feed of the game please
get in touch and I will tell you how to easily stream it. Radio Sports has
no excuses as to it being to expensive to send Brian Waddle to cover it. Its
a piece of cake for someone to stream the audio to them.

SHOCK HORROR! Bad enough we don't get any video ... but the thought of not
even having audio commentary is just too much! What the *** is going on?!
Man, we got audio commentary for SA vs Aus, why the *** are we not getting
any coverage of our own ***y team?!

Rats
Pissed off enough to start using the F word!

What makes you think a terrestrial channel would have shown it?

You sure?  I wasn't paying much attention, but I thought I just heard radio
sport advertising the Pakistan tour.

I don't mind watching that stuff, but I'd much rather watch something NZ was
participating in, except if it was something I'm not interested in like
curling or darts.

I don't think there's any coverage over here in the UK either, which is a
bit dissapointing. I was expecting highlights on SKY.

Personally, I couldn't give a tupenny stuff about Sky's coverage, but
the suggestion that Radio Sport won't be covering the Pakistan tour
really pisses me off.

Listening to Brian Waddle at the end of a test match from Pakistan,
when he's loopy from talking non-stop for nearly a week, and when the
phone keeps disconnecting, is IMHO the high point of cricket. It
requires so much commitment from everyone involved.

I don't believe that they won't send him, when there is so much
interest in the cricketers at the moment. Especially if we continue to
do well in Sharjah.

Don't blame Sneddon for the lack of coverage. It was either Chris Doig
or Peter McDermott who signed away NZC's soul.

Question: How much do you think it actually costs Radio Sport to send
Waddle to cover a tournament? There's salary, travel, accomodation,
food, insurance, and an international phone call that lasts for 7 or 8
hours per day. I really don't know, but it must be a lot!

Pakistan is off to a flying start.

Bye,
James

They don't need to send him, hell hook him up to a satellite paytv feed let
him comentate from NZ. Its better than nothing! as for the 7 or 8 hour phone
calls that dosnt even come into it they could easily stream in good enough
quality over an internet link for next to nothing.
