You referred to people many times in your post. I have only one question
about your post.

    "who are these PEOPLE ??"

Well, I haven't been involved in this thread at all, but I am certainly "one
of those" people. I'm disappointed Australia isn't doing better in the ODI
but if they hold on to win the test series 3-1, I really wouldn't care if
they lost every ODI for the rest of the season. With the exception of the
World Cup, I don't think a single ODI series anywhere is the world has the
importance of a single test match.

Martin

P.S. At the risk of making sweeping generalisations, I would think most of
the "serious" r.s.c fans would have a similar opinion of the relative
importance of tests and ODIs.

By way of support, I'm in complete agreement with Martin.  Don't tell me
that
One day internationals are nothing more than  a commercial derivitive of
the true sport.  The bowlers  are hamstrung by the rules to bowl in a
"strike zone". To
me, they're 'frivoulous' and way predictable.  They are a legitimate
contest I
guess, but not to be compared with the proper form of the game. Recent
Australian ashes winning tours have generally coincided with losses in
the one day series. The same occured in the Carribean last year.  So
which was more important; the OD series
or the Sir Frank Worrel trophy; the OD series or the Ashes?

I daresay that most of the players would agree as well.

ODIs are good fun and games but the Tests are what count.

Cheers

I'd omit "With the exception of the World Cup" leaving "I don't think a
single ODI series anywhere is the world has the importance of a single test
match."
