I just want to ask a question from the non Aussie posters here.

How would you feel if your champion player was vilified and ridiculed
constantly by the Aussies and called everything under the sun. Would you
continue to ignore this or at some stage say enough is enough and decide to
fight fire with fire??

Interested in your honest answers as it seems to me that the Aussies are
going over the top in insulting Mural now and I'm getting mighty pissed off.
But it seems to me that I don't have people empathising with me (except the
3-4 SL posters) because the player is not from their own country or team. I
have ALWAYS thought that if it was a champion player from their team that
was so constantly insulted and shat on, then their responses here would have
been FAR worse than mine.

Larry,

Harbhajan Singh's action has occasionally been questioned, Shoaib Akhtar's
much more often, as for that matter, Brett Lee's. They are not Murali, but
they all three are key bowler's in their respective teams (BL sometimes is
the key bowler for the opponents, but that is another matter :). I do not
recall sensible posters blowing a gasket over this. Multiple lesser players'
actions have been questioned - agin without too much brouhaha by anyone
reasonable here. The key word here is reasonable and you have consistently
refused to act in that manner - your responses are over the top, and you
seem to have no interest in actually trying to understand what others are
saying. Since your response is always so predictable and so loony, people
like pressing your buttons, which is not hard because they are as big as
cars.

Anyways, shorter answer to your question:

I support India. Go ahead and call Tendulkar a cheat for picking on a ball
or Dravid a cheat for the lolly thing, or ask questions about Harbhajan's
action, or call Ganguly a ***, or whatever, and I don't think I will go
too crazy. In fact, sometimes, I may even agree that the substance of the
argument is correct (i.e. wrt Tendulkar, Dravid, +/- Harbhajan).

I'd tell 'em Shane Warne is a foul-mouthed***head - but they'd probably
agree with me.

But have they ever been called a thief or pickpocket?

You tell them that Warne is ***against batsmen who know how to play spin,
and everyone will agree with you.  Warne is a ***Batsman Bully (tm).

The only reason why i can't empathise with you is due to the fact your logic
is
quite unsound on the whole "Does he chuck or not" argument. In fact i've had
to endure reading 3 years of posts from you on this matter.

Ignoring regular baiters is an option worth pursuing.  A lot of people have
already told you this, but let's repeat it once more: several posters here
try to trash Murali deliberately only to push your buttons because they know
you start foaming in the mouth each and every time.

Murali doesn't need approval from posters to RSC and no one is taking his
wickets / records away.  If you think Murali is a champion player, then you
should also believe that he can look after his interests.  He doesn't need
your support.  So you should either consider ignoring the Murali-baiting
threads or even killfile the regular offenders.

Cheers, Shishir

Not very good.  Come to think of it, I think I'll have ambivalent feelings.

I wouldn't ignore it, I may not say enough is enough.  On the fire with fire
part, again, I am ambivalent.

I can't tell that you are pissed, Larry.

Nonsense.  You have few people emphatizing with you, that's correct, but has
little to do with the player not being from their own country or team.

I doubt it.

We don't have one.

Having said this, this is your imagination at work. Murali is called a
chucker by several people including me.

He is rarely called anything else. I have seen "bug eyed" but his
expressions on delivery are a bit wierd.

Quote:

Well, you can call Kirtley a chucker if you like but I'd agree with you.

The abuse you claim is hurled at Murali is in your imagination. Or grossly
exaggerated - for example the "Chucking/Stomach Cramps" joke.

You're getting pissed off, not them.
They aren't going over the top, you are.

They don't empathise with you because they think you are wrong.

Unlikely.

No-one except Ananda seems to agree that Murali is continually "shat on".
Those who think he throws will still think he throws. Some people think
some deliveries are throws and not others.

The nearest equivalent, Blee, who is borderline, has been accused of
throwing without Australians ranting in his defence.

And let's not forget Lee who is the crappest fast thing on two legs. No
wonder they don't bother to pick a proper wicket keeper.

This appears to have been Bishen Bedi who is neither Australian or an rsc
poster.

Deja search for Murali pickpocket returns no results.

Bollocks he isn't. He's been often called a cheat and it's not uncommon to
hear him referred to as a***(and not by Darren Lehmann either).
"Googly-eyed" has been used as well, though I'm not sure that Darkfalz
actually deserves any kind of attention at all.

That said, several players have been called cheats (Dravid, McGill, Shoaib,
Slater, Warne) as have several umpires, so maybe Larry is taking things a
bit too much to heart.

As for the c... word that's been used in reference to other players, at
least one umpire (Bucknor) and several RSCers.

I was particularly fascinated by this
http://SportToday.org/+group:rec.sport.cricket&start=...

because it shows that there is actually a person in the world who thinks
that Brett Lee might actually hit something.

Larry, we wouldn't give a rat's ass either way. I guess we're made of
sterner stuff. We've been through dramas with our own chuckers, namely
Meckiff.

It was Bishen Bedi who called him a Murali, BTW, not some yobbo Aussie.

As we say here in the US; get over yourself already.
