200 in first-class debut abroad

But Hendren had previously toured Australia in 1920-1, 1924-5 and
1928-9, so it wasn't his debut abroad as I would understand the
expression. By "debut abroad" do you mean "debut in the country abroad
in which the match was played"? I guess that must be the case, in fact,
given that Lambert appears twice in the list for the West Indies.

You are right; I should have made it more clear. It *is* supposed to
be debut in the country abroad in which the match was being played.
Thanks for pointing out the ambiguity.

I'm glad of that. You had Brearley getting a double ton abroad in 1976,
when I knew he'd scored a triple in 1966-67. But the double was in Pune,
and the triple was in Peshawar. I was getting worried that you were
going to include a deliberate error in every post to see who was
reading. Phew!

Aslam,

I am not clear what  you mean by "debut abroad". Do you mean "debut abroad
against a particular country"? At least some of these players had played abroad
against some other countries before scoring a double century against a
particular country.
