Which brings up an interesting project...

Which was the most effecting pair of tandem bowlers of all time?  A way
to judge their effectiveness would be to take the number of wickets they
have taken while bowling together and divide by the number of games in
which they have bowled together. This could well include spinners. It
would be interesting if Bedi/Chandra or Laker/Lock, over their careers,
were more effective than Walsh/Ambrose or Miller/Lindwall.

Aslam, care to try this one?  Feel free to modify the metric to make it
more representative.

More interesting...And I see a lot of ammunition here for lots more wars
With better catching support would Srinath-Prasad have been more
effective than Ambrose-Walsh? TIC.

Go Javagal!

Far more unique is for a single Test Match:
No Test Match have ever produced two blowers on the same side to take
ten wickets apiece(4X5), and only five instance of 3 bowlers on
the 'SAME SIDE' to take 5w in an Test match as follows:

1894-95:For Australia, Giffen (5-76)and Callaway(5-37)1st inning,
Trott (8-43)in 2nd inning, and for England Richardson 5-75 in Australia
1st inning, hence making it four Bowlers(Aus 3 Eng 1) taking 5W in an
inning in a single Test Match, making it very unique.

1909 4th Test: SF Barnes 5-56 & C Blythe 5-56 1st inning, W Rhodes 5-83
2nd inning

1975 Eng vs Aus,1st Test: Lillee 5-15 & Walker 5-48 ist inning,
 Thompson 5-38 2nd inning

1981-82 1St Test: Doshi(5-39)1st inning, Kapil Dev(5-70)Madan Lal(5-23)
in England 2nd inning and Ian Botham 5-61 in India's 2nd inning,
equaling the 1894 instance, a span of 90 years

1993 5th Test: Reiffel 6-71 1st inning,  May 5-89 and Warne 5-82 2 nd
inning

It came pretty close earlier this year with England trio of
Caddick,Cough, and White, plus Walsh and Ambrose, but it didn't happen
perhaps in the near future when two bowlers can achieve 4x5, not so
far, prime example: Arthur Fagg's two double hundred in a match.
Has anyone even got closer. I'm rooting for Sachin on this one.

*note 4 bowlers have taken 5w in a single test match with ratio of 2:2
what I'm posting is a ratio of 3:1
