Sachin's woeful performance

Post by Crai » Thu, 26 Mar 1998 04:00:00

It seems our boys have improved out of sight.

Tendulkar took as many as 107 deliveries to get his 100. Plenty of non
scoring shots and a couple didn't even come off the middle of the bat.

Here's hoping we can restrict his double century to 250+ balls. That would
be quite an achievement.

M:: What a racist this guy is? I am sure you wouldn't have said the same
had Michael Slater (your best batsman he he) scored this century :-(.

No cheers,

Di,

Methinks, Mr. Oracle was trying his hand (and failing miserably) at some
kind of double irony!!!

Doesn't Oracle qualify anyway, though? Sounds to me like he deserves pride
of place...unless, the triple-quadruple irony thingy holds true... in
which case, I'm in :-)

I don't think Dianne deserves entry into the hall of fame - you've got
to be the victim of sarcasm, not ineptitude (Oracle's, not hers).  The
only sarcastic portion of Oracle's posting concerned Slater.

Smashing. We're now going to be treated to endless threads on rsc of
people pretending to be suckered in by a post laden with irony, just
to prove a point. And then we'll have several follow ups pointing out
that aforementioned people should be entered into Chans Hall of
Fame. Then we'll have follow ups to those follow ups pointing out that
that is not the case, because those same aforementioned people were
actually playing along with the joke.

Am I the only one who sees where this is headed? Am I the only one who
thinks this is a far greater waste of bandwidth than cricket-related
score updates (though perhaps not a greater waste than dead-language
revival sessions, IMHO!)?

Am I the only one who thinks MR Ramprakash and CL Hooper put Keith
Miller and Gary Sobers to shame?

Hmm, maybe I am.

cheers,

Rohan.

On present form, if I *thought* I saw Michael Slater score a century I
would have to give up drinking.

I intend to stop however Friday night at approximately 8.03 pm AEST, when
the big man kisses the helmet (protective head wear I mean).

Should he be dismissed for 0 dragging a wide delivery onto the stumps, then
I intend to drink heavily.

Yes Cheers,

Craig

Errr M. I think you didn't quite get the sarcasm in Craig's statement. He is simply bemoaning the (to him) miserable Aussie bowling performance.:)

What are you on!  Have you no understanding of sarcasm!

M is certainly a candidate for the RSC hall of suckers.  What's more,
they've even wrongly accused someone of being a racist while they're at it!
