Indian team against Pakistan

I think we should (and almost surely will) play the same team, with the same
batting order as we did today against England. Even if there were worries
about the slow batting in the middle overs, I think it is hard at this stage
of the competition to attempt to rectify it without causing more damage
elsewhere. As far as Mongia is concerned, a lot has already been invested in
him in this tournament in terms of time spent out there, and one would
imagine that sooner or later that time out there will pay off. That is a
well justified risk to take and is lesser than the risk of trying out
another player.  Also, he has scored some runs and it is not as if he is
getting out for single digit scores after facing 30 balls. I would say there
is much more right with this batting (including order) than wrong, and this
is not the right time to change anything. Frequent changes are one of the
reasons Pakistan is doing so poorly at the moment. I think it will help each
player to know exactly where they will bat and what their role is, and that
these two things will not be re-evaluated after each game, even if they
don't do what they are expected to right away. Sure, we can prod everyone to
improve upon their mistakes, but I think we are past the time where large
scale changes should be done. I would be happy if they retained this playing
eleven right through the tournament. I dont think Agarkar and Bangar have
enough recent match experience to be tried at any time during this
tournament, especially as it now enters its tougher second stage, and Kumble
is the only possible change we could think of making depending upon the
state of the pitch and opposition (though with Nehra more or less booking
his position with this performance, I think even that discussion is moot).
