A tip for Indian sports fans

TIMES NEWS NETWORK[ MONDAY, MAY 29, 2006

For those who stayed up till the wee hours to watch India's one-day
squad being beaten yet again by the West Indies, there is something to
learn from the Americans when it comes to team sports. The national
passion in the US is a game called baseball where, no matter who loses,
the US wins the championship year after year.

That is because, barring the odd team from Canada, the baseball
championship is essentially contested by teams from the US. So what if
your team from Massachusaetts or Montana has lost! The championship
trophy is still safe and sound with an American team. Which is a rather
neat way of ensuring that there's no dilution of the feel-good factor
among the US sports fans! Likewise with basketball where teams like the
Chicago Bulls take on the New York Knicks.

In football, where they are not too sure-footed, the US has come up
with an American version. Both India and the US are democracies, which
were originally colonised by the British. However, after wresting their
freedom, the Americans have evolved their team sports to a degree
where, no matter who loses, the US always wins.

India has remained backward by continuing to play and lose games the
British colonialists handed down. India persists with playing cricket
where its team loses despite millions staying awake through the night
just to watch Dravid's boys yet again snatch defeat from the jaws of
victory! In hockey, the Indian team has put up a consistently poor
performance despite changing its coach as often as other sides change
their wrist-bands.

And if Indian fans can't watch their team lose in World Cup football
in Germany, it is because we have not qualified!

Hey Kathrina Sanjay,

I knew you have to vent your anger somewhere for the gradious 1-4
performance but..... if you had any IQ, or if you could read, you could
have noticed "indiatimes" in the link for this article!  What's
wrong...can't handle a love letter from your OWN media?  ;-)

I knew you have to vent your anger somewhere for the gradious 1-4
performance of your pukis against India but......if you had even a single
digit IQ or if you could read, you could have noticed Indiatimes, times of
india are the same.

Whats wrong......can't handle a love letter from your fellow rsc
***s wog george, dechuka and andrew dungford.

They are craving for a brown skinned pukistani *** like you on
their roster for role playing.

Your parent must be proud to have given birth to a *** like you. I
wonder how your imams let you live instead of sacrificing for allah.
