MOS Award

MOS Award

Whilst I know that most people were shocked at the CUB MOS award, I think
the problem mainly is that most of us really don't have any idea about how
it works.

AFAIK, generally it is worked where, in every game the top three players are
awarded 3, 2, or 1 points by someone.  I HAD thought it was members of the
media, but I am not 100% sure here.

I think all this unpleasantness and booing could have been avoided by simply
publishing who got those 3, 2, and 1 points after every game.  Then
complaints would be a little more valid "You gave Marto only 1 point for
that game?  He WON that game for us!  Are you bonkers??"  The added bonus
would be that towards the end of the series, there would have been a little
interest created not only by which team won, but by how individuals did in
those games.  Knowing Mark Waugh was a mere 2 points behind Lara certainly
would have had some people cheering for his individual performance in the
final game of the series, etc.

Something similar happened in the WWC.  The player who IMO ought to have
received the POS award still didn't, but it was very interesting to see how
close it was, and to cheer for your favourite.

Cheers
