Insipid England meekly left the competition after being out-thought and
outplayed by the RSA in a one-sided contest that cruelly exposed their
many faults. England's batting was disappointing - they lost their last
six wickets for 28 runs -it would be churlish not to praise their
opponents' bowling. In fact, it took England until the fourth over to
register a run off the bat - all England could manage through the first
seven overs during which only three runs came off the bat at the
Gymkhana Club.
