Indeed JZ. A couple of false starts for this Oz team but all of a
sudden they seem to have a rather lethal pace attack again.

no doubt the English batting will struggle a lot more then they did in Oz

BUT  .. cant see our batting putting any pressure on the English bowlers

Keep in mind there are TWO Ashes in 2013, and only a few months apart
at that.

Regardless of form now and into the future, Ponting and Hussey will be
gone. Age will simply catch up. Plus there's a chance their
replacements won't get much Test exposure, as both of them might hang
around for another 12 months.

Only if by "interesting" you mean that it'll be a replay of the last
series.

Seems like it, although who knows what will happen a full 18 months
from now. The 5 players in this India-beating Aus XI that England
haven't previously seen (and conquered) are Pattinson, Cowan, Marsh,
Warner, and Lyon. The last 3 named have done f.a. so far this series.
At this point, let alone England, even badly beaten India aren't too
concerned about them. (Now watch Marsh and Warner cane India come
WACA... :-)) Cowan has stuck around gamely but isn't likely to have
Anderson/Broad/Bresnan/Swann quaking in their boots just yet. And
Pattinson might get just injured in the next 18 months.

The remaining 6 guys played in the Ashes last year which England won
3-1 *in Australia*.

Yair. That's what I'm saying. Surely he hasn't been blinded to the recent
Oz batting shemozzles by the hoo har over Robert Pattinson's younger
brother and the mythical Patcummins.
I suspect that JZ is having a little tug.
(And with his equipment the "little" is entirely superfluous...)

Bingo. What I was really saying is "this series is over, what's
next" :)

I wouldn't be too certain of that. Much as I'd like to see Whingdia get
flogged *and* spectacularly implode, those recent Oz batting collapses are
too frequent and too recent for them to give up hope just yet.

And a thought on those batting collapses..... Much as I've been impressed
by Cap'n Clarke I'm beginning to wonder if he's one of those intense &
worrying type of captains who generate tension in the shed.

Bit late to admit being a ***er JZ, I'm afraid that's old news. We've even
done thorough pubic testing...

All testing should be public...

Could be a long way away, too.  Australia will play maybe 100 cricket
matches between now and the first Test of the 2013 Ashes - that's 100
opportunities for career-making or career-ending performances, and
nearly 100 opportunities for new names to appear.  Like earlier
respondents, I do not expect Ponting and Hussey to play in that
series, and in this recent run of (relative) success it is Ponting and
Hussey, more than not, who have given us playable totals.  What of
Watto?  What of Paine?

Then to the bowling.  Will the McDermott Method work on English
pitches?  Will the nagging length be sufficient without the same
bounce that we get out here?  Is Lyon a long-term solution or a
mirage?  We also have 47 bowlers on the disabled list, so I estimate
zero probability that Siddle, Pattinson and Hilfenhaus will play
together at Lord's.  They aren't immune to breaking down.

A long way away.

The point u make is excellent. Hussey and Ponting have been given an
much more time than was desirable for the team's natural progress and
the knock on effect will be the lack of experience in the middle order
for 2013. The additional problem is that both Cowan and Marsh are
nudging 30, so the new selectors appear to be committing the same
folly of their predecessors
