Arawak Down Under

Post by Araw » Fri, 17 Aug 2001 01:58:21

Hi All...

It seems that I will be in Melbourne for two weeks in September, and I'd
love to meet any local RSCers while I'm down there. If anyone is up for a
Bundy or a Fourex with me some evening please drop me an email.

Cheers,

Arawak

Must be business.

What? Surely there must be *some* email in Melbourne? Or is it just
that no-one there knows how to use it?

Um.... because that's where the customer is and my boss would be annoyed if
I went to a different city. She's like that.

Nonsense, Di.... there's lots of email going on in Victoria! <grin>

Bosses are so petty!
I keep on trying to persuade Rick (husband, not boss) that MY boss would
like it if I slept in most days, and didn't bother going to work, but kind
of mooched about the house instead, but he keeps telling me I am wrong and
kicks me out of bed.  Very rude!  There is something seriously wrong about
the world if he is correct in this assumption.

Don't bank on the Fourex, that's a QLD brew for those who are unable
to say or spell beer. ;)

Cheers,
Rod.

Er, Rod - the joke only works when people know that the name on the can
is XXXX.

"XXXX... the beer Queenslanders can spell"

Luckily, I have played ultra cricket and Tim has Enlightened me.

I do however, have a friend in Brisbane who assures me that Queensland is
God's Own Country, and there is not in fact a disproportionately high
number of queens living there. He cast several aspersions on the general
population south of the border, and I believe the word "***ers" was used
more than once.

Geez, you guys are more territorial than the Poms! ("Pompous soothenas"
"***y northerners")

I'll make sure I wear my Maple Leaf shirt so that I don't get mistaken for
an out-of-stater (or worse, an American!).
