Good fight by Australia

Just a tad short.  I went to sleep at lunchtime confident that this would be wrapped up by tea time, but missed a stirring 10th wicket stand by Starc and Doherty who apparently read from a different book than the rest of their teammates.

Woke up and went to to check out the winning margin only to find India chasing -- if you can call it that -- with Kohli & Pujara maintaining strike rates that barely went over 50.  Tendulkar came in and scored a run a ball 21 that eased the pressure but then Dhoni got into the act, crawling to 6 off 25 balls, and things got way more tense than they should have.  Fortunately, Jadeja came in and hammered two boundaries and Dhoni slammed 3 more to turn what seemed a nerve-wracking chase into a laugher with 15 balls to spare.

Australia showed quite some heart and put up an excellent fight; and in the end India won a tight game.  Just about the best outcome I could have hoped for -- some fight by Aus and an eventual India win that worth savoring...

Some things never change. Before the last day started you could have bet that:

1. India would struggle to get the Aus tail out
2. Australia would fight until the very end
3. Our little God would not budge from his holy #4 spot, no matter what. And would not finish the job in the 4th innings. Karma?

After Kohli got out, the bowling really upped the ante and made it tough on India.  I think Clarke should have slowed it down rather than bowling as many overs as he did... It is all well to talk of winning, but fewer overs might mean greater pressure on India to chase...

No talk yet of Dhoni using up all the hot water and causing
Tendulkar's dismissal?
