He did not cheat. According to the rules of cricket, he was allowed a runner
as long as the opposing captain consented to it. Tendulkar allowed him to have a
runner thus Anwar did not cheat. Anwar's innings in the heat at Chennai could be
considered the ODI equivalent of Dean Jones performance in a Test against India.
Anwar did have cramps during the innings, and in recent times he has been plagued by
injuries. There is no telling how many runs this wonderfully gifted batsman would
have accumulated in the last year or so if it were not for his injuries.
Furthermore when Anwar got out, Pakistan had made 297. Thus he had made two-thirds
of his teams total at that point. Astounding!
