Pure pace is really of no use. Nobody except Indian Batsmen are afraid
of pure pace. Maybe Brett Lee should learn to bowl intelligently like
Shoaib Akhtar. Only then will he be able to take as many wickets
as Akhtar.

Then you obviously missed Afridi making a meal of facing him. I'm sure
he had to change his jocks after he was runout.

Cheers,

Hmmm..Funny that. A certain part of the sub-continent thought it was
VERY useful when Shoaib was fastest!

great spell - not just because of pace, though.
btw, has anyone gone in the 'fastest ball of the season' competition?

Pace is always useful, but skill is better. I was watching Akhtar yesterday
and he didn't have any chucking problems when bowling slower (mid 130's).
He problems seem start the high 130's to low 140's. The 150's are quite
dodgy.  That is the most interesting part, his action visibly changes. Dead
straight arm to dodgy action as his speed increases. He bowled quite well
with the 130's balls, will we see him lose his speed as his action is
corrected?

Why don't the camera's give use some decent slow motion replay's of
all of the crickets actions from side one. I'd like to look at McGrath and
Wasim Akram as well as Lee and Ahktar.

Hmmm, didn't SOMEONE say Akhtar is consistently faster than Bing, who
supposedly averages around 145? I'd like to see Akhtar bowl A SINGLE
OVER averaging over 150, which Bing did for 4 overs. Nice to see Bing
bowling better slower balls. From 154.8 down to 147.6.

Aktar: 9 1 49 2
Lee:  10 1 48 2

Perhaps he should just learn to play more ODI games against India.
