What happend after the West Indies vs. Pakistan final was really despicable.
I received a lot of mail from many Indian fans who mocked the Pakistani
cricket team and all its players, saying things like Kuttay ki maut mar
o do such things. It really is a waste of time, but it reflects on your
lack of dignity. I am not going to stoop to your level and make myself one
of you but I really hope from the depths of my heart that Lara saves his
best against India and really comes big against them. Then we shall see
what justice is. Come to think of it Pakistan's performance was creditable
taking into mind the fact that the key bowlers were missing from the side.
Ambrose and Walsh were playing for the West Indies and if anyone other
than them was playing Pakistan would have cruised past 320. Key players do
make a difference.

Well Shariq, I can understand how you would have felt after receiving
such mails. Just to tell you, even I am receiving such mails. I am saving
such mails so that if these bas***** keep on doing this, I can lodge a
complaint at there universities. Surely they'll learn a lesson .

I can't understand how one can send mails to total strangers?? Why these
guys can't reply on newsgroups ??

Shariq,

I agree that it is terrible that some ignorant fools sent you mail
deriding your country, but by painting all Indians with the same
brush, aren't in fact doing exactly what they did?

Sounds like a fitting treatment. :)  Anyway, I poked my nose
here to confess that I am getting bombarded too. And worst of all, the
friend that lent me his account for IRC commentary (Zaki alias Akram)
is being abused too.  I provided the commentary on the match as a
service, and was fair and impartial in general... The guy who lent me
his account ahd nothing to do with anything overzealous I would have
said when Basit Ali lashed out at Ambrose!

The net effect of all this is that I am losing my appreciation
for Indian cricket team (which I have followed since diligently since
I have coem to US).  I know I am generalizing "Indians", but I can
statistically prove that these mails are sent by Indians (or at least
hindu sounding names).  What I don't understand is why these deranged
people would derive such vicarious pleasures that having nothin to do
with cricket but a war of politicians.  However, I do know, from now
on, your system adminsitrators would start receiving a copy of your
emals (along with *literal* translation).

Take care you dudes -- I would if I were you!

Salman [sick of flaming Indians, but not the other Indians] Azhar

PS: I apologize about any snide remarks that I was induced to make
about Indian cricket - they were not made with any cricketing reason.
The remarks about England stand - they are one wimp of a team that
would be better off playing *gulli-danda* with their *gullis*.  I am
looking forward to their butts being kicked and their heads being
smashed in WI.

Hey, your sysadmins must surely love guys with attitudes like that.
Why not use your OWN account? Scared of the hate mail? I guess you
at some point signed something to say you WOULDN't share acounts, abuse
system resources etc, didn't you?

I dunno either. Probably bored and ignorant. But then again in my
totally biased opinion you and a few of your compatriots do sort
of stand up and ask for it!

hey whats a gulli, dude? I mean, if you're gonna slag my team off you
might have the courtesy to use languange I can understand.

Also, do I take it that if I and my mates (many of whom ARE sysadmins) start
to deluge you with "hate mail" then you might soften your attitude

ha. And I thought the reason I liked cricket was because it involved
a little more talent, skill and imagination than most of the brain dead
contact sports. Well Salman, I can see I was sadly deluded in at least one
case.

The days of colonialism are over, and you Brits better realize
that. :)  Zaki's account was a local call, and mine wasn't.  We were
doing commentary together and telnet was slow, so we used his.  You
got a problem with that, go tell the Queen -- why bother sysadmins?
Let us she is she can do a dang thing about it. :)

Nope, no such thing! :)  As I instructed, go talk to the Queen
about the problems in ex-colonies. :)

exists in engish). You not only are an obnoxious colonial brat, but
proud of it. :)

For someone who cant take it you sure dish out. For the past 6 mo.
