Not many watching at the ground, it is woeful scene at the Gabba with
a handful of spectators, even on this very pleasant Sat arvo.

Seemed like there was a reasonable crowd on Day 1. It wasn't full, but
there were many more people than, say, for the first two Ind-WI tests
last month. Surely it didn't go down for the Saturday, with Ponting
and Clarke coming out to bat to open the day?

On a side note, what's with those bright orange seats (some seats here
and there appear to be  orange in colour, but in no obvious pattern)?
Do they signify something or was it just random?

The pattern is a Cunning Design to lessen the negative impact of acres of
empty seats. Works well.
