England should use Tudor as pinch hitter

Since Eng will be chasing around 200, I'm pretty sure they are going to falter
if they go with their normal batting order with push-prod specialists like
Naseer & Ramps.

Going by the way the two bat on flat pitches, I will not be surprised if they
are over cautious even to innocuous deliveries & finally succumb to a good
ball.

Only Stewart & Tudor (Probably Thorpe) can win this match for Eng. I would have
definitely promoted Tudor to #4 with instructions to hit cleanly anything
pitched up (not blind slogging). A quickfire 30 will help a long way by any
batsman

Afterall look at the way Doull is playing

Cheers,
Roshan

You'll have your wish tomorrow, Stewart's out and Tudor is in as night watchman
Bad light stopped play.

Well, since he came in at number 3 as nigh***chman you've got your
wish. I suspect it's long odds against him coming off a second time,
though, facing the new ball. I wonder if it's become more feasible to
bat on this pitch when the ball has become older and softer? It's
certainly remarkable how all three innings so far have been rescued from
complete ignominy by a late partnership.

Much will depend on the weather tomorrow, I think. If it's a nice fresh
sunny day then England have some sort of chance, but if the ball swings
again then they have very little hope. One wonders if it's all a cunning
plot to ensure the match is all over before the Wimbledon Men's Singles
Final!

If England want to win it, I think they have to take the risk and bat
positvely. They won't win poking and prodding. All the batsman that
have done well have played shots, and scored some runs before getting
out.

(I hope the English mangement don't read r.s.c. :-) )

Stewart can't win it for Eng because he is out for 0. It's a terrible
batting track.

They obviously do! And I have to apologise to Tudor for doubting whether
he could come off again.

What is the world coming to? Australia winning the WC, Becker leaving
wimbledon, Schumaker losing, England winning a test match!!!!!

The world is coming along just fine. Pakistan *not* winning the WC,
that absolute w**ker Becker getting absolutely thrashed out of his
final Wimbledon, England winning a test match (okay, so I'd have said
the same had NZ triumphed :-) and best of all, our Indian duo taking
the Wimbledon title as well to go along with the French they won just
a few weeks
ago.

Woo Hoo! Now if only India can win an away series by the year 2050,
all will be even dandier.

Cheers,

Harish

I cannot believe NZ lost the test match. I was pissing cricket balls after
hearing of the result. NZ snatched defeat from the jaws of victory. A typical
occurance for NZ cricket, I'm afraid.

Tudor played very well though...and Thorpe is a piece of crap. What a ***er.
