"No ball!"

Just like the other 499.

Of which 350 were also tailenders.

What test playing nations have a tail that begins at number 4? Other than
The West Indies.

Out of the 500 wickets Murali has taken, 284 are top-order wickets. While
Warne has 283 top-order scalps out of his 504 wickets to-date.

                      Warne          Murali
  Top order wkts (%)  56.15          56.80

  Read this and weep.

What is "top order"? Top 6? Care to compare that to some of the other
players like McGrath and Pollock

It's a pretty difficult thing to measure, really. Both Pollock and McGrath
would be tail-enders, but I know which scalp I'd prize more (yes, I know
the poster is asking about the bowling of P & M).

But basically Sultan is trying to make out Murali has a disproportionally
large number of tailenders in his haul and Warne doesn't, yet the bald
stats would rend to indicate that the ratios are pretty similar.

But just as well we never get anyone here criticising Murali except for
occasional comments about a suspect action

England perhaps. Though one could say that the Bangles tail begins with
their openers.

What about comparing the number of wickets Murali/Warne have at home and
away?

Murali has a distinct advantage playing on the piches in SL. Warne on
the other hand has had to battle it out on pitches suiting the quicks.

Go right ahead, I'm sure if you try enough variations, you guys will eventually
find a stat where Warne comes out considerably ahead of Murali.

Just remember not to use the term 'India'

And how many times did Warne have to bowl to the world champions Australia
dude??

Also what support did Murali have at the other end except for Vaas? They
just play him defensively and attack the others. But he is STILL good enough
to grab wickets. He is an absolute ***y legend, just like Warne is.

Hey Larry
Not denying they are bost top class bowlers.
Just thought if people are gonna pick on stats then their away bowling
stats may be useful.
