Indian Squad for SA

What do folks think?  I know it's many months away, but there is no longer-format cricket for Indians to play till then.  I don't think any of them are playing in the English county season.  Given that (forgetting for a moment the Indian history of choosing test teams based on shorter-format performance) what would the squad look like.  I am assuming a squad of 17: three openers, six middle order bats, two keepers, four medium pacers, and two spinners.

For starters, spin:  Jadeja?  Surely not in the place of Ojha?  How else?  Surely not as a middle order bat!
Openers:  Vijay and Dhawan have both done enough to go, Gambhir as the third (to back up as early middle order if needed)
Middle order:  Pujara, Kohli and unless he retires, Tendulkar, are given.  Who will be the other three?  Rahane and Raina, going by current selections, but Rahane hasn't been too impressive in his single innings to date and Raina has a history of weakness against pace.  Tiwary and possibly Rohit Sharma are the other contenders. Could Nayar be a possibility?
Medium pacers:  Bhuvaneshwar and probably Ishant certainly. Yadav, of course, if he is fit.  Who else?  Zaheer?  Pathan or Shami? Could Punjab's Sid Kaul or Sandeep Sharma make it? Ishwar Pandey?

Would like the opinions of those who are closer to domestic cricket than I am!

Personally I would take Sehwag and play him at number 6. Ashwin or
Ojha and keep jadeja as the twelth man. Of course Dhoni will in all
likelihood play jadeja at number 6 or 7 but I would bring in Sehwag
and play him at number 6. This is assuming tendu plays and bats at
number 4 his usual position. So, two openers (whether Vijay, dhawan or
Gambhir or someone else). Than pujara, tendu, kohli and then Sehwag at
number 6. However, in all likelihood Dhoni will play jadeja at number
six or put himself at 6 and play jadeja at number 7. Bowlers, I would
definitely hope that Umesh Yadav is fit and so Yadav and Ishant
alongwith some third fast bowler. (Could be anyone who is fit and
performing well to the run up of the series). Ashwin would be the
definite spinner and Ojha as back up. I suspect that jadeja would play
in the eleven and bat and 6 or 7 with 3 fast bowlers and Ashwin. Ojha
would be kept out of the eleven unless Ashwin is injured.

Two openers. (vijay and dhawan if both are fit).
pujara
tendu
kohli
I would put Sehwag but Dhoni will play his buddy jadeja
dhoni
ashwin
Ishant
Umesh Yadav
Any seamer who has performed well in the run up to this series

Ojha would play in place of ashwin if he was injured.

If tendu doesn't go (for whatever reason) than obviously Sehwag should
automatically come in and bat at 4. Or kohli at 4 and Sehwag at 5. If
tendu doesn't go and Dhoni still keeps Sehwag out of the team than it
would further show his bias towards Sehwag. It would be sad if that
were to happen.

Yadav, Pathan and Shami should go, Bhuvaneshwar certainly not. Since
he has so much time to play the quicks, is tall and had a decent time
on similar surfaces in Oz, they should promote Ashwin to 7 (and of
course play 6 specialist batters including Gambhir), if not higher.

Has SRT announced his retirement yet?

Nope. When he does you'll feel a great disturbance in the Force, as if billions of voices suddenly cry out in terror and are suddenly silenced. You'll fear something terrible has happened.

I thought you would have liked to be taken by me.

Anyway, I am not really in the mood to go to South Africa. You know how I
play on those kind of conditions. I would prefer to make my comeback at #6
in India, Pakistan, Bangladesh or Sri Lanka.
