Dungford (TM) and Crapats (TM) make Cricinfo commentary again!

I know it was posted before but I wanted everyone to know just in case
they missed the first post. :-)

From Cricinfo Commentary

"And Andrew Dunford has struck again in his inimitable fashion (and as
a
related aside hey Resident Rodent of RSC, I refuse to name you despite
your
mails to me!). Meanwhile Andrew says, "While you are waiting, a quick
match
report from the under-9 grade in sunny Wellington. Collegians Aces
130/5
beat Karori Crocodiles 68/6 at Kelburn Park." All I can say is Shut up
Dungford (TM). For the uninitiated RSC is a usenet cricket group.
Cricinfo
grew from there to be where it is now. Some say, the early days were
better!"

I love this part, "All I can say is Shut up Dungford (TM)". :-D

Ah, CiL is factually incorrect on that one. Cricinfo grew out of irc,
not rsc. It's true that many people (including me) got on to irc after
it was mentioned on rsc, so that there was substantial overlap between
the two communities. But cricinfo was very much an irc concept,
starting out as a software bot, and then migrating to the web a few
years later.

Aha, so our dear Sriram Veera is the culprit. I wonder if he's getting
paid to write this nonsense :-)

To be fair, I did not chase down the exact bit of commentary that Rats
mentioned, so do not know if Sriram Veera was the perpetrator of that
bit. However, Sriram has had some reports apparently from NZ on CI
during these last week or two, so I assumed he's in NZ and
commentating on some of the matches. All assumption on my part.

Does the head of a particular Christian denomination defecate in a
forested area?

It isn't a secret.  At the beginning of the day he writes "this is Sriram
Veera commentating" and at the end "this is Sriram Veera signing off" or
whatever.

Unless somebody else snuck in and typed for a few minutes when his
back was turned, I'm sure it was him.

Well- is there not a satellite feed to Chennai?

I don't find your assumption implausible.

My. Hasn't it become relig.sport.cricket in the past few days.

I get the feeling that Bobs may have defecated in a few forested
areas, but I hate to lower the tone* like that

Oh well, had following the latest worthless ODO in Aotearoa on
cricinfo been my thing, I would certainly have gleaned this important
info. As it was, I was attending to more important and interesting
matters, like t*** my toenails and watching grass grow (and oil
slicks, and just for rsc nostalgia, sipping some tomato soup)
