That may be, but they still have a long way to go to match Zimbabwe's
38 all out

http://statserver.cricket.org/link_to_database/ARCHIVE/2001-02/OD_TOU...

or, India's 54 all out

http://statserver.cricket.org/link_to_database/ARCHIVE/2000-01/OD_TOU...

On the same note, Sri Lanka seems to have made a habit of doing this
to their opponents every once in a while - kudos.

I also went back, and looked at the 20 lowest scores in ODI, and
here's the number of appearance by each team

Pakistan 4 instances (43,71,74,81)
India 4 instances (54,63,78,79)
New Zealand 3 (64,74,74)
Sri Lanka 2 (55,78)
Australia 2 (70,70)
Zimbabwe 1 instance (38)
Canada 1 instance (45)
Scotland 1 (68)
South Africa 1 (69)
Bangladesh 1 (76)

Ok Spiffy, if you're gonna be so nitpicky and anti-Bangladesh about it,

After 52 matches, Australia (70 on their 7th ODI) and NZ (74 on their 40th
ODI) had already featured in this list once, and India had already featured
in this list a stellar 3 times after their first 52 ODIs.

but, in these first 52 odis:
aus: won 27 (and had 2 no results)
nz: won 24 (and had 4 no results)
india: won 20 (including world cup 83)
ban: won 3 and have a rpo differential of -1.5.

i am not anti-bangladesh. in fact, i think it would be great to have them in the
test match arena.
my only beef, as i have repeated many times already, is that they are just not
ready for it and were introduced too early.
if, by posting the stats that you have been, you think that they are doing ok,
you are just fooling yourself.
they have not even been remotely competitive in the overwhelming majority of the
matches (both test and odi) that they have played.
do you disagree?

No, you're correct, they have not been nearly as competitive as other teams.
The point I was trying make is that scoring 76 is just a fluke (I hope
they'll prove me right in the coming games) rather than a indicator of their
standard, just like Zimbabwe's 38 or India's 54.

i hope it is a fluke as well. i think that bangadesh is good enough to regularly
score between 150 and 200 or so.
these are not winning scores, but they are not pathetic either.
however, every team has one of those days when nothing seems to go right.
i would love to see the bangla performance improving, rather than the other way
around.
