finally able to catch the aus-eng test match on tv and what do I see?
Hoggard and Giles bowling to Ponting and Clarke!

Clarke is one of the best players of slow bowling in world cricket at
the moment- I can tell he is capable of hitting even Warne out of
attack. Ponting is ponting and that is that :)

But you can't help but wonder why Eng are resting their 2 best wicket
taking bowlers on Aussie pitches and instead play Hoggard(proven
tailend wicket specialist) and Giles who needs to be playing FC cricket
to gain rythm and such.
(getting slow-mo Martyn's wicket is good but nothing else).
It shows Eng coach does not know how to win non-dead-*** test
matches (in australia that is  ). All he needed to do was play Panesar
and Mahamood and see aussies struggle at 317/9 by now.
oh well, Fletcher is always a few tests behind some of us in
strategizing.

And Gilchrist.  You're working yourself into some good form there.

No, your proven tailend wicket specialist got 2 pretty nice outs.  If only
England can fight back and score about 400 runs...

GO ENGLAND

why do you think I included him in the Ashes X1 ahead of McGrath(check
the post on pre-series pick)
You still need to take wickets even if the opposition has scored 460/4.
(wickets after 450 runs will qualify for tailend wicket bucket?)

Perhaps for your next trick you could explain to Harmison the purpose of
those three wooden sticks at the other end of the pitch.

Too little too late, the damage has been done
