Heh. Just went to see what was happening on cricinfo and peeped into the
SL-ZIM one day match to see what was happening.... and I stayed.

Vaas took 8 wickets incl. a hat-trick!
Zim all out for 38 in 15.4 overs

Vaas 8-3-19-8
Murali 0.4-0-1-2

Vaas took the first 8 wickets and then Murali spoilt his party. Murali's first
over and the man has to take the two remaining wickets in 4 balls. Poor
Vaas. Too bad he couldn't bowl consecutive overs. I'm sure he'd have gotten
10 if it wasn't for Murali. Would have been the first 10 wkt haul in ODI
history. 8 wkts is also a new world record for ODIs.

Unless I am mistaken this is also a first class record beating an 8-21 by
Michael Holding in English cricket.

Middlesex has scored 23 in a one day game. The lowest team score I can find
for a FC one day game.

(No the middle name isn't Aslam or I might have more accurate stats)

I don't want to say never.

But I think that record will stand for a loooong time.

Sanath should not have brought on Murali at that time.  With two more overs
in hand, Vass surely would have picked the other two wickets.

I am nearly sure that I have seen a score of 14 somewhere in FC.
Anyways, it is for Aslam to confirm / deny.

Nope, it may be a record for 'list-A' one dayers though.

It broke a record set within the last 12 months.

I was refering to all first class one day games (which I believe are now
refered to as List-A or something) as opposed to a first class 3/4/5 day
game.

Yes I was refering to List-A one day games or whatever thay are called as
opposed to the 10-10 Verity took in a county game.

I saw in the record books under Womens cricket someperson in English womens
cricket clean bowled the entire opposition finishing with 10-0
(wickets-runs) and then scored all of the runs for her team.
