I had a horrible start yesterday at Highland Woods! Two "snowmen" right out
of the box!  Had to really talk to myself to settle down.  Finished the
front nine at 50 (!) with one other 'blow-up' following a bad 5 wood into
the lake.  We were playing from the 'blues' rather than the white tees but
the length is not that different - certainly not the 'tips' or gold tees ...

Got a break at the turn and had a 44 back side with a birdie on a long par 3
(94 is ~ right on my handicap).  Gotta' quit those ugly blow-up holes!  At
least the new fairway woods (Protactic "Rough Cutters" in 22*, 25* and 28*)
were great!  Essentially 7W-9W-11W, letting me start irons with a 6I through
LW.

I am beginning to really hate blow-up holes. The round is going along
nicely, for me, and then wham up jumps one of these. Game takes a lot of
concentration and some times the tiniest thing can interfere.
