Big Bertha Irons, steel vs. graphite

Big Bertha Irons, steel vs. graphite

I am in the process of buying Big Bertha Irons, either with Memphis
steel shafts or graphite shafts. While I am inclined towards steel
shafts I would like to hear of any experience that would confirm my
choice, or the opposite.

I just purchased BB steel after trying both. I couldn't seem to hit the
graphite shafts as well. The kid at the store couldn't explain why. Maybe there
is a weight difference. I didn't care enough to investigate.

BTW, I used to play PING Eye 2 and these BBs are a LOT easier to hit and seem
to impart a lot more spin on the ball.

The RCH 96 shaft is a pretty good one, and the price is
reasonable.  Also Callaway will replace them if something goes
wrong.  So it depends on whether you like the playability of
graphite, which is a personal preference.

Big Bertha Irons, steel vs. graphite

I manage a golf course that sells Big Bertha irons and has15 sets in
graphite and steel for rental clubs.  I started out playing graphite but
have since switched to steel.

They are both great clubs but the final determination on which to buy has
to come from you.  Simply get a demo set of each and hit them.  You will
find out which is the best for you.
