From the back tees: (based on posts from the past)

Driver:    275 yds
3 wood:  250 yds
5 wood:  n/a
7 wood:  200 yds

3 iron:  235 yds
4 iron:  235 yds
5 iron:  220 yds
6 iron:  200 yds
7 iron:  190 yds
8 iron:  180 yds
9 iron:  170 yds (compared to average for SPGA pro:  140 yds)
pw:      150 yds
sw:      135 yds
gap:     120 yds

Average gross score:  90
Average USGA hadicap:  10

Obviously, only one of these is "average", but which one?

Wow those are averages.......see real high.  Also I always defined my gap as
the wedge between the Pitching and Sand wedge.  My Lob or Extra wedge is the
shortest.

Ahh, yes they are.  But these are RSG postings from the past messages!

Of course they are.  Tiger can't hit as far as an RSGer.

So if those are how far an average RSG member hits from the back tees, how far
does he hit from the front tees?

Interesting enough, I will figure my 22 wood to go 200 yards, and have hit my
longer woods those distances rarely.  The iron distances are pure fantasy for me
of 30-40 yards different.

For me it is the 7W.

I would guess the 7 wood.

SW is the only one I have every been close to.

Nothing like a nice skinny SW of a bare lie, that races like a tracer bullet
through the green to scare the b-jesus out of the group in front on the next
tee.

LOL.  Or out of a trap across the green, right at your girl friend.

Everybody is banging them out there, why aren't their scores better?  I'm a
short hitter and I figure that's why my scores suck but what's these guys
excuse?  I'm hitting a 7I about 165...170....

The truth is that most RSG'ers can actually hit the ball much farther,
but I pull down the average. :-(

Maybe the 5 wood?

Those distances sound a bit low. They are probably based on "carry" yardage,
not total "carry + roll".

I DO NOT hit the ball anywhere near those distances.
But my scores and USGA handicap are better than what is shown.
It ain't how far, it's how many. I play boring golf, avoid trouble, hit
fairways, hit greens, avoid penalty shots.
