It would have been easy to fold, but he hit a great shot when he had
to, and got his third win.  What a year he's having -- six events, six
top 20's, and four top tens.  I hope he and Tiger get past their first
round matches this week; they should put on a great show in the second
round.

Am I the only one who thought he was taking a pretty long time over
his shots?:-)

Well, that won't happen now --- Bjorn withdrew, and now Woods and
Sabbatini are in different brackets.

Too bad they didn't put him in the Snead bracket.
He'd be playing Ben Crane.

That would be fun to watch!

Over the weekend, one of the announcers made a good point that
Sabbatini had shown his cards by blowing up at Crane.  Expect
*anybody* he plays this week to be VERY deliberate.

it was Faldo, and he would know about taking advantage of competitors
weaknesses! And, I agree with him. If I was playing Rory S this weekend
I'd be slower than f****g molassas. I'd only get beaten by 20 or so
strokes but I'd be on his nerves for sure :)

i'd be willing to bet that rory is more respected than ever in the
locker room by his peers after taking a stand like that...billy mayfair
even referred to him as a "trail blazer" in SI Golf Plus shortly after
the incident...for all of the scrutiny he got, he was definitely
successful in getting his message across...something tells me he'll be
naturally less irritable this week anyway after pocketing $900K

I can't remember all that happened - did he and Ben actually exchange words
at some point, or was it just the incidents (two of them, I think) of RS
walking ahead sooner than "protocol" would indicate?

If memory serves, he didn't just walk ahead, he holed out and walked
to the next tee while Crane was still way back in the fairway.  And at
the completion of the round, Rory brushed Ben off when he attempted to
shake hands.
