Five bucks says you'll hit a tree....

Classic...apparently, a spectator bet a player 5 bucks they'd hit a
tree...think it was Owens or one of the other no-name leaders on
Sunday. They said he was trying to get the fan kicked out...never heard
anything more. I'd have taken the guy's five bucks...teach him to shut
up quickly !!

No kidding. The line is, "I'll bet you a hundred bucks you slice
it into the woods!"

There is no excuse for imprecise Caddyshack quotation.

A more experienced player with confidence might have simply taken the
bet...seems Coles got quite upset about the whole thing. Man, if this
guy wants to play with the big boys he better grow some thicker
skin...betcha Big John would have said.."You're on"..and taken the guys
money !!

Correction - "Make it $500 and you're on!" then taken the guys money :-)

JD would probably have said you're on... what would actually happen
after that... way too many variable so predict. :)

Then what's *your* excuse?  The line in Caddyshack is: "I bet you slice into
the woods, a hundred bucks"!  Proper grammar wasn't Al Czervik's
strength....

I don't know why, but I never saw so much club throwing and bunker
smashing at an event as I did at Houston this week.  Wait, I know why!
Because Tiger wasn't playing, and it was a very weak field, so people
we usually don't see got a lot of air time.  Could it be that Tiger is
actually above the median when it comes to decorum?

Gavin Coles is an angry ant at the best of times, but due to the fact he
can't hit over a jam tin and plays straight he should have upped the bet.

I noticed it too... club throwing, etc. But I didn't hear anything. Did
I miss it? :)

I saw lips moving, but no sound. I guess they had the mikes turn off or
way down.

I would have taken the bet and poped it 100 yds off the tee.
Most likely still would have made par.
