Single Golf in Myrtle Beach?

Single Golf in Myrtle Beach?

Post by duc.. » Thu, 12 Feb 1998 04:00:00

Anyone have ideas as to a single golfer going to Myrtle Beach in
early April? Every ad I see seems to be based on double occupancy and Baytree
Golf Plantation didn't seem interested in returning my phone call. Is it
worth the trip to see if I can on a "decent" course? I have no qualms about
being put with other groups.

Any ideas?

Dick

I play as a single quite often in MB(usually in early Feb.)...Ath that
time of the year the courses don't seem to mind a single going out alone
but if they have someone to pair you with they will.  The hotel/motels
usually have a rate for single golfers..you just have to ask.  I have
stayed at the following as a single:
Red Tree Inn
Hampton Inn 48th st.
Hampton Inn Harbourgate

Hope this helps

Paul

Golf packages in MB are composed of about $20 Hotel + 20-60 Green fee +
$18 golf cart. It does not make much difference if you are alone or
not.  The major portion of variation of the price is in the quality of
courses you wish to  play, if you can afford,  go for the best. I spent
about 15 days playing alone, I was paired with people from different
places and handicaps from 2-3 HCP to hackers.  I enjoyed with all of
them.  Since you are only one is very easy for the starter to put you in
any twosome or threesome.  You will enjoy very much MB except taht you
will wish be there with your pals.

Regards
Jose.

Get the info from Myrtle Beach Golf Holiday. They have a Web site and an
800 number, but I don't have either handy. They'll send you a brochure
that tell you more than enough.

Then get on the phone and get the best SINGLE golf package rate you can
find. The Dunes runs a decent operation, and they sure are BIG.

Finally, make tee times through the hotel Golf Director as soon as you
can. (Usually *after *you send a deposit.) If you book ahead, there
shouldn't be a problem pairin up with a deuce or threesome. You get firm
times at the courses you want this way.
