Well Don, you know I'm around.  If it's on a weekend, I'm definitely in for
Sunday.  Saturdays are about 50/50.  Every other day of my life I work.
(  I am lucky if I can sneak in nine holes in the afternoon before I head
back to work.  I have wondered in the past if there was enough interest in
this area.  There is certainly no shortage of courses.  Pace of play...
Well, some of the people in this area apparently know better places to go
than I do.

Reading about the Hershey RSG Outing and am very impressed - is there
one in the Detroit area?

If yes, please advise when and how I may contribute.

If not - is anyone interested?

I'd hop over the bridge, for a game !!!

Would need a bit of advance notice though, Friday pm and Saturdays should be
OK, Sundays would be iffy.

Cheers!!

The good news is - at least there is some interest.

I am very flexible with regard to when and where we can play.

So far Joe & David we have a threesome.  Perhaps we all have a buddy
or two that may be interested.

Looks like I probably have the most time to organize something - so I
will do it if you wish.

What I do need is some input from you guys and from those who have
done this.

Also, I need a feeling for the amount of money you want to spend -
once again I am flexible.  Unless I win the Lotto then I will treat!
:-)

So far the June 23rd weekend is out for me, but fairly flexible any other
time.  I'll have a word with Patrick Inglis and see if he would like to come
down for it.

The Canadian dollar being worth approximately 5000 rupees or  60c US,  I am
hoping that your Lotto number is a winner!!!  I'd suggest perhaps a one day
deal - 2 rounds for starters and see where the event goes from there.  Are
there courses which offer a day-ticket???

Cheers!!

It would depend on the day and where.....I live in Jackson, 30 miles from
Ann Arbor - 85 miles from Detroit.....if it were on the west side of Detroit
area, I might be able to make it.....

Ok, now you have the fires burning but I need your help to fan the
flame.

Following are some questions that I hope will be the start of the
Detroit Area RSG outing.  Please Please - if you have any other
suggestions feel free to let me know.

So that we do not post everything to everyone perhaps you can email me
with your replies - suggestions.

Anyone else who has suggestions or advice please contribute.

My first blush at some questions are:

1. Format played - probably stroke - could have some side "match" play
if you choose.

2. Skins?  Guess it is your option - but I like em.

3. 18  or 36 holes - I am leaning toward 36.

4. Cost?  What do you feel is too much.

5. How far do you want to drive?  I would like to try to keep it to
around 50 or so miles - even though that may not be possible for all.

6. How many friends can each of you bring?

7. Food - how fancy - do you want it included or ala carte?

8.  Drinks - I think we should be on our own on this as some may not
drink.

9.  Let me know if there are some "absolutely can't make dates" - some
have done this already.

10.  Time preference - if we were to play 36 - obviously an AM & PM
time is in order - but how early is too early and how late is too
late?

11. Prizes - anything that you or your companies may want to
contribute would be great - or do we need them at all?

12.  Day preference - looks like a Saturday or Sunday is the most
popular - which one is better?

13.  I am sure I have missed something - don't be shy.

Thanks,

Don

You know I would! Especially if there was a Canada vs. USA match happening.

PS. Yes, I started reading RSG again.

I'd be up for that - you and I could play against two representatives of the
USA, and see where Canadian golf really stands ( or falls!!).  That would be
a fun match indeed.

Sounds like the way to go - at least a side match.  The RSG CAN/AM Cup
comes to mind - think I have an old coffee can someplace.  Of course
if by chance you win you have to pay the duty on it! :-) I am planning
on inviting a friend from Windsor - a pretty good stick - so maybe you
will have a chance! :-)  Seriously, I will need some help organizing
the matches etc.  so don't be shy.

I have been getting some pretty good responses - will be working on
some course options and a date over the next couple of days.  I will
post them via email - we can all have a vote - majority rules.

Speaking of rules - I suggest we play by the rules and play the ball
down - any objections??

Yea, that would be me.  I'm often spotted on the tee 'scratching' my
head trying to figure out how I took such a big divot with a 3-wood!

Hi

I'm new to this newsgroup but I'm from Windsor so i might be
interested.  I'm about a 16 hdcp, so i don't know if I would be holding
you guys back.  I wouldn't want to embarass myself if you guys are
scratch golfers!  Anyways, I'll keep my eye on this thread and
hopefully something will come of it.
