NXT Tour - keep'em or give'em away?

Post by Mike Marle » Wed, 18 Dec 2002 00:56:00

Got a dozen NXT Tour as a gift last night.  I looked at some of
the comments in the rsg archive from this time last year to
late summer.  How many of you still playing these?

So they do not have as nice a cover as a Pro-V1, the spin rate
is supposed to be close to a Pro-V1, and the distance as well.
Think they fly further in colder weather?  Do they putt as
well as the Pro-V1?  I would think that they last as well
as a Pro-V1.

(as if I am playing well enough lately for it matter)

Cheers, Mike

I like them.  Not as much as the V1 but when I tee one
up I don't feel like I'm hurting my chances of hitting
good shots or making putts.

David,

I've seen you putt.  You could use a rock and not put any worse.  :-)

I played the NXT Tours last year and like them OK.  They don't spin
near as much as the Callaway R35 Reds that I used to play and might be
a bit longer than those.  They seem to be a decent ball but nothing
I'd hunt all over town to find.

Good ball.  They live up to the reputation of being a poh' man's Pro V.

These balls are no good. Please ship them to me
immediately and I will dispose of them properly.

Thanks,

Robert

I don't think the EPA approves of all of those *** plastics disposed of by
dumping them in the bottom of lakes, and hidden deep in the woods.

Picture yourself as an archeologist 10,000 years in the future trying to make
sense of those dimpled egg like items found in sedimentary material of old
artificial lake bottoms...

I've used them quite a bit this year.  Kind of like the Top Flight XL 3000,
which I also use.  I like the Pro-V1, but hate paying the $$$.  So I use the
3000 which is similar in many ways.

Hey, if you two can't get along, I'm going to have to move you to opposite
corner's of the virtual room!

While I appreciate your mediation effort, let's consider
the source.

A quick run to google will turn up dozens of posts that
state, "John has a terrific swing, why can't he score ?"

<all due respect>

John wouldn't know a decent short game if it bit
him on the ass.

</all due respect>

Perhaps if I found one of John Daly's drivers nearby I might be able to put
two and two together.

Ah yes, but unfortunately for future archeologists, only his putters will be
found in sedimentary layers!

LOL!  I love it.  Good one, David.

I NEVER said that my game was any good.   I just said that you couldn't putt.

NXT Tour - keep'em or give'em away?

They're a pretty darn good ball, especially for the money.

I suppose if I was going to play Titleists, I would opt for the Pro V1.
Never thought I'd switch from Titleist balls, but I've grown quite fond of
the Callaway HX (blue) ball, and have been using it for several months.  No
reason to switch back.  But if I wanted to go back to Titleists and didn't
want to spend the $$ on ProVs, then I wouldn't hesitate one minute to go
with the NXT Tour ball.
