Those who use the Ryder Cup to knock the Presidents Cup are
missing the point. They say that the Ryder Cup is a special
competition while the Presidents Cup is meaningless. These
people are conveniently forgetting that for the first
46 years (almost half a century!) of its existence, the Ryder
Cup was also a completely minor event in golf.
Personally, I think the Presidents Cup is junk on its own merits.
