steelhead vs steelhead plus

anybody see a difference between the steelhead and the plus  i have
hit them both.  i honestly do not see a difference in flight, distance
etc.  at least in the 3 and 5 woods.

Also time for a new driver.  thoughts on the steelhead vs hawkeye?
Again, i have hit them both. Maybe the Hawkeye is a little higher, but
I think it is a lot of hype.

Honest input is appreciated.

I own two Hawkeye's...10 degree for my driver. A 3 wood and a considering
a 5 or 7 wood. I have never be able to smack my driver the way I do. I
was hitting 325 - 350 tonight easy with it.

I used to hit a Taylor Ti Bubble but no where near as straight,
consistent or as far as my Hawkeye. In my opinion they are incredible.
Tink sound off the tee, straight and very high. They have dropped in
price to 350.00 last week.

I do wish I would of went with a 8 degree as the 10 is a little two high
for me.

If you have a fast swing speed get the SH Plus, the regular SH's have a
tendency to cave in. As for the drivers, I personally don't think you'll
find a better driver for the money than the SH Plus. If you want to spend an
extra $200.00 for 10 yards then by all means get the Hawkeye.

The Steelheads have a reputation for the face caving in....I think the
Steelhead Plus was supposed to fix this problem

What effect does this "face caving in" have. I have a set of steelheads and
have not noticed anything unusual.

Thanks

Tony

You don't generate enough swing speed to be concerned--based on the
fact this hasn't occurred to date.

steelhead vs steelhead plus

Personally, I like the Hawkeye over the SteelHead Plus having tried
both.  The Hawkeye is a lot more forgiving.  I think that's the KEY
word here.  More forgiving.  I have a 10* driver and a 5 wood.   The 5
wood is very easy to hit and goes long.   The 10* driver is very
forgiving and has a built-in draw bias (so does the 5).   Don't let
that draw bias scare you.  I practically never draw the ball with
either.  I had (or maybe still have on occasion) a tendency to slice
but that rarely happens with the Hawkeye.   If I do, it minimizes the
effect.

There was some controversy about the old SteelHeads where some faces
could cave in a bit when struck very hard.   The Callaway rep I spoke
to said this happened with certain "batches".   I demoed a regular 10*
SteelHead driver and never had this problem.  My swing speed, when
last measured (don't know how accurate) is around 95.  I think to
really cause any damage one would have to swing a lot faster.
