Changes to Philly draw?

The list of today's matches for the Philadelphia tournament, which just
showed up on my newsreader, shows Joanette Kruger taking on Amy Frazier.
In the original draw, Frazier was supposed to play Arantxa. Has ASV
dropped out for some reason, leaving Kruger as a lucky loser? (She wasn't
so-identified in the draw, but the main draw participants are all pretty
highly ranked ...)

The women who qualified seem to be (dar deduces):

Marlene Weingartner and Alejandra Maria Vento, who play each other in the
first round (gotta go with Vento), and Fang Li, who plays Chanda Rubin (I
would bet on Li here).

Other matches today are Jennifer Capriati vs. Ai Sugiyama (Ai has been
playing well of late, which spells more bad news for Jen-Jen); Sabine
Appelmans vs. Ruxandra Dragomir  (*both* have been playing well lately, so
this match promises to be *the* one to watch today, IMO); and Lisa Raymond
vs. Helena Sukova in the night match (Lisa has been playing *very* well
lately and poor ol' Helena's been looking kinda tired, so unless she can
channel, say, 1987, I fear it's another first-round exit for Cyril's sis

For real! Brooke should be alarmed if Andre mysteriously pulls out of the
Las Vegas challenger!

Changes to Philly draw?

Oh, good ... I get to follow up to my own question!

I just read that it was 7th seed *Mary Pierce* who withdrew from the
Philly tournament (for unspecified reasons ... maybe a sore ego?), and
that ASV was subsequently moved into the 8th seed and Spirlea bumped (hee
hee) into Pierce's slot. Kruger, though, is in as a lucky loser.
