Official rst Australian Open predictions 2013

Hello.
In case anyone doesn't know, Hops has decided not to run the prediction contest
any more, but he has kindly released it to RST (see thread titled "Contest"
about a week ago). I thought I would have a go at it, at least for this AO.
Many thanks to Hops, who ran the contest from 2004 to 2012. I have left his
pre-contest instructions mostly as they were.

The draws are out.
http://www.australianopen.com/en_AU/scores/draws/index.html

Same rules, predict the winner/finalist for both men and women. Scoring
allocation:

Winner Pick is Winner  6 points
Finalist Pick is Finalist   4 points
Winner Pick is Finalist   3 points
Finalist Pick is Winner   3 points

Picks must be from different sides of the draw. If they are from the same side,
only the Winner pick will be allowed.

If one of your picks is in danger of pulling out of the event you can select an
alternate pick, but the alternate is only valid if the original pick withdraws
before their first match.

A perfect score of 20 will be rewarded with....bragging rights, unless anyone
wants to offer an actual prize.

All entries will be listed here:

http://home.pacific.net.au/~davidw/tennis/contest/rst_2013sp_AO.html

Entries must be posted before the first ball is struck in Melbourne on Monday.

Good luck.

Contest cliff avoided. There's still time for attacks at the new
custodian's character.

Has the rival Iceberg prediction contest been rolled into this one, or
did Iceberg/James Reed delete his recent invitation after noticing
that this thread was up and running?

Might have been interesting to watch two simultaneous competitions
battle it out. Bigger and better prizes! More lenient rules for late
entries! Grandiose titles for the winners to encourage participation!
User interface wars (Iceberg promised a web-based entry form)!
