Winning percentages of (year-end's) #1 player;

1982: Navratilova 90-3 (96.8 %)
1983: Navratilova 86-1 (98.9 %)
1984: Navratilova 78-2 (97.5 %)
1985: Navratilova 84-5 (94.4 %)
1986: Navratilova 89-3 (96.7 %)
1987: Graf 75-2 (97.4 %)
1988: Graf 73-3 (96.0 %)
1989. Graf 86-2 (97.7 %)
1990: Graf 72-5 (93.5 %)
1991: Seles 74-6 (92.5 %)

In 1990 Graf was already stumbling but in 1991 Seles was even worse -
the worst #1 in 10 years!
Of course - Seles was only #1 because Navi was old in 1991 and Graf was
slumping.

so you think based on his posted "evidence" max will concede that mn
was best women's #1 in open era?

no he wont.Martina COMPLETELY dominated for 5 years only (1982-86).
Chris Evert and Martina Navratilova shared the exploits between
1978-81. Tracy Austin ALSO dominated 1980. .... based won win %.

Steffi COMPLETELY dominated for 7 years (1987-89, 1993, 1995-96).

2 years more, It makes a lot of difference.

but max posted it himself: mn 86-1 (98.9 %) - better than anything graf
ever did. it's his own data which he was using to devalue seles. how
can it be right in one circumstance but wrong in another? doesn't make
any sense. until you remember it's max... ;)

no, MN was tops in 87. and anything after 92 doesn't count because it's
post-parche.

so that's 2 years of legit domination for graf.

Fraulein forehand, undone by Seles's ability to hit winners fore and aft
at the German Open, was espied at Roland Garros using a two-fisted backhand
presumably,to keep up in the arms race. In the head war between the
two young women, Seles may have won the final then and there.

Graf was tops in 1987.
Ranking #1.
WTA player of the year.
ITF world champion.

LOL!
I declare: Seles's two successful years 1991/92 don't count because of
Graf Blackmal Scandal/Trial.

Stay at least consistent: 1988, 1989, 1990 is 3 years.

But we have to add 1987, 1993, 1994, 1995, 1996.
Eight years #1.

There must be a reason why most tennis experts and fans (even in the
U.S.!!!!!!!!) consider Graf the greatest female tennis player of all
time .....

*** Seles.  Parche possibly cost her at most 2 slams... everybody knows she
never would've won Wimbledon.  *** CHOSE to stay out the rest of the time.

best estimate is 7-8 slams - basically all the AO/FO/USO titles from 93-96.

She had long since recovered and simply chose to stay out of competition.
Much like she has chosen to stay out of competition the past few years.

Did Graf have a nose job?

I noticed that Graf still has a very huge and ugly nose but it is no
longer hooked but extends forward.

It is a reach to blame Graf's losses on her problems with the German
authorities who caught her and her daddy cheating on her taxes.

You do the crime, you do the time - that is unless you stab someone who
is wiping the courts off with Graf:-(
