A freaking good album. Probably the 1st extremely loud album. And also
the 1st speed metal album. All the songs are great. The best songs
being Flight of the Rat and the jamfest Child in Time. Lord, Paice and
Blackmore are on fire in this album. I think this is slightly better
than Machine Head.

Child in Time is one of the best songs ever.
My second favourite from Purple is Burn, with Coverdale and Hughes
singing vocals.

Nice page.

I'm not big fan of mk1. Hush is nice track though. I had the Book of
Taliesyn and despite it having couple decent tracks, it didn't sound
so purplish to me...as you said on your page, Beatles stuff etc. River
Deep, Mountain High was a good cover though.

Some say that Stormbringer (Coverdale, Hughes) is the most complete
album. I'll have to agree with that, there are NO bad tracks. Sound is
of course more soul/blues than mk2.
Burn and Mistreated are great tracks too.
Here's Mistreated:

Also I'm a big fan of Blackmore's later projects, namely Rainbow...
They have couple great albums with great songs with Blackmore and Dio.
Great great great stuff. Dio is the man.

Also used to listen to Bend out of Shape -Rainbow album a lot back in
the day, I can not count how many times I listened it through...It was
nice AOR-heavy rock background music when doing math homework :)
Got pretty good grades too!

Bet you've seen this, but here's anyway Gillan+Dio+London symphony
orchestra, Smoke on the Water:
