Two weeks before the Australian Open 2013

Nadal: I have been practicing for long time and tried hard to deal with my injury, but it is not getting better.
At this stage of my life, I decided that living a healthy life the remaining years of my life is more important than risking it trying to get back competing at the highest levels specially after what I have achieved in my career.

So I announce that I am retiring the sport, and I'd like to thank the fans for their support during the good and tough times in my career.

The other thing I'd like to say, that federer is the GOAT, Only me and ATP know this but we are not allowed to discuss it.
