Serena on a roll

She blitzs Venus in the semis and beats Jankovic in the Family Circle
Cup. Not red clay but green clay is still closer to red clay than any
other surface.

I am amazed Serena is playing her best tennis at such an old age.

Yes that what everybody been saying, it's you who think Pova is equal.  Which is farthest from the truth.

Nowhere near here best tennis, but still better than anyone.

Amazing, since she has played during by far the best era of women's tennis.

You mean the era when a 40-year-old former journey woman was able to
beat several slam winners?

Maybe he thinks that green clay is same as red... I think it's actually
closer to hc...

Having said that, I watched a bit of Serena vs Venus match and my god
Serena was playing well...

I did not see the Venus/Serena match but I saw a little of the Serena
vs Jankovic match today and Serena was looking A+.

i watched 1/2 of it and it turned after an apparent argument between
serena and jankovic. serena took her to the woodshed after that
moment. but she seemed bored IMO.

I didn't say Sharapova is equal. I said there is no way to say that
Serena is more talented. Of course 15 slams > 4 slams

BS. I am confident Sharapova will get her on red clay. But only one
slam in played on clay. And there is YEC which is also not played on
clay.

No way Jose. Connors won tons of green clay tournaments (I think 13)
but didn't win on red clay.

I can see how red clay helps Sharapova's game against lesser players. Her serve isn't the weapon it once was, so a serve blunted by clay doesn't really hurt her game, and the added time for ground strokes helps her. The clay does blunt Serena's serve (her best weapon) to some extent, but gives Serena the same ground advantages.  H2H Serena has the more effective ground strokes (ability to hit winners and consistency), plus a big mental advantage.  I hope they do meet in the FO final, but it's very probable that both will be knocked out before then.
