It's been released and 2 quick things I have noticed. #1 is obvious, no
Serena (no shocker there)...#2...Capriati could not have designed herself a
better draw. Venus gets Raymond first round (good upset bet??) if she wins
that then her 2nd rounder should be ok and then Mauresmo in QF's...Yikes!
Capriati on the other hand has McCain/Shaughnessy 2nd round, headcase
Zvonareva in the QF, Myskina in semi's...is this as good a draw for her as I
think it is?

Myskina is over her problems, it looks like. A semifinal against
her is a tough draw. But it's still a nice draw for Capriati.

Except that she isn't very good indoors. Zvonareva might well
threaten her.

Capriati, although my favourite player, is certainly no indorr superstar.
But the tennis god's shined on her for this draw I believe. I think the
final spot in the YEC is all in Capriati's hands.

it seems rather odd that sharapova is in the advanta challenge draw,
big benz believes that she is playing under age restriction and this
tournament would put her over the limit.

as far as venus goes, it seems that she just needs to keep playing until
she gets that big tournament win that will help her to get her
confidence back.  that's the thing with venus predictions, you never can
tell when she will get her confidence back.

all that said, from looking at the draw, one has to suspect that
capriati will get farther into the draw than will venus and will
win the final place in the wta tour championships.

Even if Capriati makes the semis -- which I doubt -- she will not beat
Myskina there.
