Fed wants to make it look hard to make up for Nadal's abscence

He doesn't want his only FO win to be tainted by not having to beat
Nadal so he's allowing his opponents into the match and then beating
them easily at the end thus making it look like it was a hard to win
FO.

I wouldn't exactly say Federer won easily at the end versus Del Potro....

Haha!  What a crock of shit!

Even if it was true, which it clearly wasn't, it's too
late, because Feddy's FO win is clearly tainted without
Nadal!!!

I'm pretty sure he and Nadal planned this all out. "Look," Nadal said
to Federer back in March, "I've won this stupid bumrooter event 5
years in a row. Oh, sure, the monotony has been broken up here and
there, like when you let me beat you at Wimbledon. But - 5 years! The
last time I did something 5 years in a row, I ended up with this huge
left arm and a lot of embarrassing questions! No, this year, I think
I'm going to sit out."

Federer, though, remained unconvinced, saying, "Rafa, if you sit the
French out, or bow out early, people will put an asterisk by my win.
They will say that I had a cakewalk. People will consider it a tainted
win! "

"So," replied Nadal, "make it look good. Let your opponents win a set.
Let them win 2 sets. Play like shit. Play like your racquet is not in
your hand, but up your arse. Then, when it seems hopeless, step it up.
Remember by 5-set Rome final against Coria? Do you really think that
little South American pissant umpa lumpa could take a point - much
less a game or set - from me unless I allowed it, or was at least
sufferring from implosive constipation like you were at last year's FO
final?"
