I said this in June when he lost to Rosol. No news here. For months I
have maintained we won't see Nadal again till Doha or Dubai. He may
not return till February and then play those non-entity clay
tournaments that Ferrer and Almagro clean up on.

Maybe Nadal only plays clay events in 2013, taking the fines & ranking penalties to see if that preserves his body.

Yes, I was surprised Ulysses didn't demand links as she usually does. Uly = Manco?

Grapevine is humming, that much is clear. Federer saying he hopes Nadal will come back this year means that that question was raised.

So, it seems likely that there will be a presser soon. Nadal's knees can't be silenced for too long.

Silent retirement deal, keeps his titles and money before things get exposed to public.

Fixed.

Anyway, there's no such news. Current news is that Marca wrote Rafa will not play DC, that's all.
http://SportToday.org/

That's rather reliable source, although not definitive. Rest of the year - nobody knows, probably not even Rafa himself.

No you didn't.

And if you would have, why on earth would you have thought so?

Give me a break. Rafa knows already that he will not play for the rest
of the year. Can't believe a word that comes from the Rafa camp.
Didn't his doctor say Hoffa's Syndrome is not serious? If it is not
serious, why is he taking 6 months off? Does that make sense to you?
Do you not see how contradictory all of the info is coming from
Nadal's team?  There is something more going on here than meets the
eye. Either he is more seriously injured than the team is admitting to
the media, or he is not injured seriously at all and something else is
going on.

That's possible. Maybe he thinks he might play and doesn't want to commit on not playing... or maybe he knows already but keeps up the interest of fans and sponsors.

Or maybe he can't say at this point that he won't play... because he's not allowed a sabbatical from ATP tournaments without sanctions, unless doc writes him a paper for rest of the year.

We don't know. So either way is speculation.

No he didn't. He basically said it can be completely cured, not that it wouldn't take long time to do so.

oh yes i did !

cause i know him, his antics and that he can't take such humiliating
defeat. he did it after he lost the FO to Sod and this was a LOT worse
so it was obvious to me he would pull the same shit again but for way
longer and perhaps even forever.
