He shouldn't be listening to the "doctors" whose job is
to always be fearful, pessimistic and discouraging. This
seems like a typical 2 days of rest type injury and he
did finish a match.

Hope so Vlad. Obv he won't have had time for proper assessment/mri....but if
he is crying during an interview as reported, he is at least fearful of
something. Fingers crossed.

Well now we know Novak is a dumb-ass.  I wouldn't risk injuring myself for davis cup while I'm on a tennis historic run and i already have won this bullshit championship.  Novak is still not up their with Federer and Nadal with respect to wins so he should focus on slam right now.  Before some unknown come out of know where and start stopping him.  Nadal did it to Federer, Novak did it to Nadal, Muraay could do it to a hurt Novak.

He said:

"Injuries are part of the sport and you try to avoid them as an athlete
as much as you can. The nature of the injury is still to be determined.

One hour, one hour and a half after the end of the match, all I can say
is it doesn't look good. It's swollen, and when it's swollen it's
definitely not a good first sign. I'm going to do everything I can in my
power to recover till that tournament [Monte-Carlo Rolex Masters on
April 140. How realistic that is, I don't know what to tell you."

-

Swelling is normal. Obviously it's Grade 1 inverted ankle, and NOT
serious as he was able to play 3,5 sets with it. That sort of injury
takes a week or couple to heal...but he may have made it a bit longer
because of playing after the accident.

I think he will have to skip MC and will probably be back at Madrid in
one month. Monaco twisted his ankle last year at Monaco... and came back
in Madrid playing fine.

Yes, if you play a 5 setter you aren't injured.  Just ask peak 2012 Nadal while kicking the ass of some loser named "Rosol" at Wimbledon.

If anyone has the means to recover rapidly. I'm sure djoko does ;-)

the tennis world and make things lot more interesting.

Not obvious at all. Playing 3.5 sets doesn't preclude the possibility that
his ankle is serious, or the possibility - even likelyhood -  that he
damaged it further by playing on. Consider his position at the time....if he
pulls out he lets down his entire team and nation (in his mind), as they
probably go on to lose the tie.

Seeing as we don't know the nature of the injury, this is mere speculation.

That's a pretty simplistic view to take given the hugely variable nature of
injury. If he has torn ligaments in his ankle - even small tears, it can
take 4 to 8 weeks to heal. For someone who depends on his ankle as much as
Djoke that has big implications. It would mean he would be unable to
practice hard during this time - a huge downtime at a cruical part of the
season. Not only that, but it creates doubt....you start protecting your
injury for fear of a re-tear....and consequently this impairs your range of
movement and best game.

Of course, we hope it wasn't serious at all.....but his interview tears do
at least indicate that there is the possibility/fear of it being so.

Troll...

You can play when injured with painkillers. What I'm saying that it's
probably a microtear and not partial/full tear/bonefracture since he was
able to put weight on it before the painkillers kicked in.

Do some research on ankle sprains before opening your mouth...

Also do some research on Djoke's pain treshold...

I believe that he wouldn't have been able to continue there and then
with partial tear of ligaments.

Yup.

True that. It could take longer. Knowing Djoke's pain treshold seems
unlikely that it's that serious though.

But he certainly didn't take care of it quickly, running and staying up
giving interviews and walking... that should increase swelling which is
a problem by itself.

Yes. On top of that ankle injuries have... what was the term: "***ive
property"? aka spraining an ankle can mean you could sprain it easier in
the future. With Nole's crazy movement he's especially prone to that. So
maybe we should start picking our forks.

Maybe, or maybe he wanted sympathy from his home crowd for being a such
a brave soldier for his country. All we know is that he could put weight
on it and it's swollen. That suggests grade 1 sprained ankle aka
microtears, at least according to web literature.

Yes, everything I have read sounds a little worrying. But we'll have
to wait and see how this develops. If he can play Rome for example,
that would be fine.

Strange match, seems like Querrey got injured too so Djoker won the
last two sets 6-1, 6-0 even though he couldn't play normally.

Agree. Tennis needs someone like Djoker. Very interesting dude. How he
rolled his ankle was really odd - not caused by sliding as you might
expect, but landing awkwardly.
