Which means Fedex gets  Guillermo Canas next round.

Has Fedex lost to same player (other than Rafa) twice
in a row?

Hewitt, Nalbandian etc. before he became superFed.  Since 2003,
excepting Nadal, I don't think so.

Since he burst through in 2003, I don't think he's lost to the same
player twice, period. (Nadal aside, of course)

I will be beyond shocked if Federer doesn't come out and cream Canas,
that seems to be his MO following a loss to a particular player.

And of course it should be emphasized Rafa beat Fed *6 times* while Fed
has ranked No.1.  What's up with that?

Does Rafa really believe Fed is goat?  I think Rafa 'hopes' that's the
case..... he beat the goat at his peak 6 times & counting... must surely
mean Rafa himself is in 'absolute goat' consideration.... he can hardly
be a clown to knock peak Fed off 6 times.

correction : to a particular 'clown'.

You're making the assumption that the other clown (eh, I mean player)
has no say in the outcome.

Hard to have close to 94% winning rates three years in a row if you
consult the other player very much.

I reckon it could be a double bagel or very close.

Of which 4 losses came on clay? To a player you yourself have called
the absolute best clay courter ever in the history of ever? Suddenly,
those 6 losses don't sound too bad - especially since 3 of the 4 were
in finals.

Jeez, I can feel your bitterness over Sampras' lack of clay court
success all the way out here in California.

I'd say it's a matchup problem. After all, beating the #1 six times
during his peak is exactly
what Krajicek did to Sampras, including a beating in straights at #1's
best slam, and all of them
on HC/Grass [3 in straight sets], which was #1's best surface by far.

Somehow, I don't think you'd buy the same paragraph if we do the
replacement Krajicek/Nadal and
Sampras/Federer. Hate much?

Simple: Nadal matches up to Fed better than he matches up to everyone
else on the tour across all the surfaces.

Guess it's not a bad thing to be better than the goat in absolute terms....

Are you talking about Krajicek then?
