As I said in another post, Federer was getting him to generate his own
pace, doing the running, the only way to get him tired and make UE!

It's not just the pace, but the angle and position that this shots
comes in with.  It stays so low and is so near the net that Djokovic
finds it hard to hit it back through the court with topspin.  The
other option is to slice it back cross court, but Djokovic is not good
at that.

Djokovic really needs to improve his sliced backhand. That short slice
killed him time and time again.

I think Fed was deliberately working Djok's legs on that shot..
returning it
effectively is a lot of work, and Djok did it very well in Montreal.
But USO
is not Montreal.. Fed's a smart guy; played to 80% of his ability and
still
beat his most formidable HC opponent.  Can you say 'Twelve'?

80% is probably too high. I thought Federer was extremely tentative
tonite. I felt that the match was on Novak's racket for most of the
match (except when it really mattered). I know Fed won 3 slams this
year..but I think he needs a good coach if he wants to continue his
*** in 2008.

This was the worst I have seen Fed play since he lost to Murray at
Cincy ..... and he still won. Amazing.
