I think Pete is the man but this kid Nadal is amazing.....I think
Whispy will start hating Nadal soon when Nadal starts to look like he
may be GOAT material

I agree - and all the criticism that worked with Fed will not work
against Nadal:
(1) Clown era has been declared over by Whisper and bob, so Nadal's
success has coincided with the end of clown era. Three great players
at the top: Federer, Nadal and Djokovic - so the competition can't be
weak
(2) Nadal will have slams on all surfaces perhaps several times over
(3) Nadal already has slams in his ***s and twenties. Maybe not
having slams in his 30s will be the thing Whisper will bring up
repeatedly now..

Rafa has a great chance to be GOOE (Greatest of Open Era). In my book,
Pete is still GOOE.

Yes, but Nadal will never have the Slam "mix" so there's little or no
chance he'll ever
catch Pete on 7543.

Also, Whisper likes Rafa because that's the guy he's been touting all
along, so his ego
expands even more when Nadal does well because he can say he was the
first one to predict it, etc.
Whereas with Fed, he thought Roddick was going to be the much greater
champion.

I think at the end of the day Whisper wouldn't mind at all if Rafa
dominates for a while. He'd probably even
like it if he passed Fed on 7543, knowing there's little chance he'll
catch Pete using that weighting system.

I think Rafa will have trouble catching up to Fed in 7543, since
currently he is only at 19 pts and Fed is at 64 and Rafa probably
won't win as many Wim or US Open as Fed which gives the most points.
That itself would create another huge problem for Whisper: his system
will be shown to be clearly flawed as it would be clear to everyone
that Rafa is better than Fed but he would still be trailing Fed in
7543, and thus invalidating it. It would be fun to see Whisper defend
Fed and 7543, LOL...

That'll be easy for him. Rafa's better "ability"-wise, while Fed has
the better achievements.

At the end of the day, as long as no one passes Sampras he's happy.

Whisper is already giving us all these "if Nadal played Sampras"
scenarios so he's already cooking
up his excuses.

Not to worry.  I don't think Nadal's body will last long enough to
take more than 10 majors but it doesn't matter.  He's already shown
himself to be one of the all-time greats.

Rafa would swap 100 tms for 1 more Wimbledon - Sampras' 6 extra
Wimbledons equate to 600 tms, thus 12 tms = 1 rd at Wimbledon.

Nice, but hardly worth a line of bandwidth.
