I wish to change my 2 years old sail (Gaastra CSII 6.4), and I have
seen the following sails in local shops:
- Tiga Bump & Jump 6.5 (the less expensive)
- UP Slalom Race AM 6.5 |
- Aerotech Race 6.5 |
- North Spectro 6.5 |
- Neil Pryde V8 6.5 V
- Gaastra M6 6.6 (the most expensive)
I'm about 120lb, and have a Sputnik 275.
I think the Tiga is rather cheap, but not as good as the
others. The UP may be a little too heavy for me.
The Neil Pryde seems to be a good choice, but it's rather expensive.
The Gaastra may be too technical for my level.
(I'm an intermediate windsurfer, can waterstart and jibe in
flat water or small chop, and sail most of the times on a lake)
My comment on the Gaastra CSII that I currently own is that
it's an easy light sail with two external cambers,
which becomes very unstable when overpowered.
I now wish to choose a sail with a better profile.
Have you got any comment on which sail I should choose?
I use a 33cm fin with my 6.4, would you advise me to take a larger one
with that size of sail?
Thank you.
Catherine
