boom recomendation (was stuck boom)

Earlier this summer, I posted about my wife's chinook boom which we could not
get unstuck (even Ed Wilson and his "awesome" strap wrenches couldn't make
it budge).  Well, it was less than a year old so I took it back to Helm and
asked what they could do for me.  They said they would send it back to
Chinook and see about unsticking it or replacing the arm.  Weeks past ...
I called them back and they acted like they were just getting around to
looking at it.
"It looks like your boom arm is pretty stuck"
Arghhh
SO it never went to chinook, but they then called chinook to see what they
would do.
Although the boom was less than a year old, they don't make that one any more
and thus don't have any extra arms (so Helm says).

However, Chinook will sell me a new boom for $120.  This doesn't seem tooooo
generous since ASD had $109 booms last month. (they may not have been as good.
I don't know)

Does this seem reasonable?  I was hoping chinook would try to do me
better.  I was hoping for a $50 arm, but if they don't have one maybe
I'm beeing unreasonable

Should I call chinook and whine or should I take the 120 dollar boom

This doesn't sound resonable.  I got a new arm for a 1991 boom still
under warranty last month (recall the personal record story where I
went through 2 booms in one day :)  Chinook installed it while I
waited with no hassles.  If you've got this year's boom, they should
have the parts in stock for replacement.

I'd call 'em and explain your problem.

Call them and explain what happened.  You might mention that Helm kept
it for a long time and didn't do anything while with Fleetwood booms
Helm has gotten very good warranty service (for me).  Less than 1 yr
on a boom - they should make you happy for free.
