How do you pronounce "Veloce" and "Vivace"

I've heard three or four "americanized" pronunciations for these
names. What is the correct French pronunciation?

One friend says I have a "V-loach", another says a "V-loss", and yet
another says a "V-low-che"..  They should have named it "Velocity" for
us uni-lingual americans.

As far as I know the actuall pronuciation is Vel-O-sey.
Most people I speek with call it the Vel-Oh-Chey
As for the Vivace i believe its Vi-Va-chey

TLC:

The words are Italian.  They are used by musicians to describe
the tempo and character of music.  I think that the proper way
to pronounce them is:
veloce - VAY-LOH-CHAY
vivace - VEE-VAH-CHAY

Any Italians or musicians out there?

therefore I know what I'm talking about, so take it from me I'm right.

a couple of months ago in windsurfing mag, some guy wrote a brief line who had
asked BicSports.   I thought he wrote that their response was...vel-low-SAY,
and VEE-va-say.  Perhaps we'll get it straight from the horse's mouth and
someone from Bic will post it.

It's really quite easy to remember:

Veloce= "Vey-low-say"  remember by vey--very , low--low price, say--Say! that's
a good board!

Now on the other hand:

Vivace="piece-of-shit"  Any American can pronounce that.

Any questions?

We say viv-ach-ay and vel-o-shay, with slight emphasis on the second
syllables.  The company is French, but these names sound more Italian.

Hi
I'm french and i sail near Brittany (french atlantic coast).
In french, you pronounce Vivace : "Vee-vass"
And Veloce : "Vey - loss"
(I sail on a vivace 290 with a Naish Noa 7.0 , good for light winds !!)

Next time you see Kevin win another race on one be sure to let him know
your fellings about his ride. Thats what I did when I saw Patrice
Bellbeoch after he took segundo en mundo. Although I didn't quite put it
like you did here.

I was actually referring to the plastic Vivaces sold in the US in '94, '95, and
'96, which were, in my humble opinion, the worst boards ever mass produced
(possible exception:  Mistral Edge).  What Kevin is riding has nothing to do
with those boards (as has been discussed ad nauseum on this NG) and is another
example of brilliant French marketing not to re-name the boards when they
re-shaped them (and changed construction, etc.).

By the way, if you really think Kevin is racing on a Bic, there are about 110
people on this newsgroup who will prove you wrong, including me, who saw
Kevin's latest boards being tested before he got them HERE, in Berkeley, CA,
NOT France.

Hope this clarifies things.

Have sailed a '95 290 Viv-ah-chee past alot of slogging Explosions, Xantoses,
Acellerators and even a few AHD's over the past three years and had enough
money left over when I bought it to get a nice race sail.  Over 100 days of
sailing and not a ding, crack or dent.  Seems like a good light wind slalom
value to me no matter how you pronounce it.
